Tools of the trade #1 Techsoup

Updated: Feb 27, 2021

There are an overwhelming number of tools out there for nonprofits. In our blog mini-series "Tools of the Trade" I will be profiling a couple sites and tools I like for finance and administrative nonprofit work. *

First up - Techsoup! Techsoup in an SF-based organization that assists nonprofits with just about all things tech. They've got everything from discounted hardware to a help desk to courses on everything from digital marketing to excel skills. Here are some of our favorite things that we found on Techsoup:

* Discounted subscriptions to Quickbooks Online

* Computer monitors

* Sprint Coolpad plus mobile internet device

* Microsoft Office and Adobe Software for discounted rates

You do need to get registered with Techsoup and they will verify your tax exempt status. We've also experienced that some churches who have group exemptions or had their tax exempt status established a lot time ago have had trouble with that process. But overall it's simple to set up, shop and get some great items.

Also, you will want to verify that the items or software you do get through them are just for your nonprofit, not personal, use.

Revisit this section as we continue to share more tools that we use and love.

*Just a note that these are not sponsored posts in any way just sharing some things I've learned that make doing admin work more efficient and organized.
